Hi all,

My Goodyears are reaching treadwear now and its gonna cost me a good £500 to replace like for like, and my alloys are a little scuffed too.

I noticed the 18" Avus alloys for £649 here: http://www.autoalloyz.co.uk/vw.htm and thought it might work out cheaper to replace, although the tyres are COOPER AVON TYRES, are these any good or should I just repair my alloys and get new Goodyears?

Cheers.

I've seen used OEM 18" S4 Avus alloys go for less than that on Ebay.

I'd rather refurb an OEM set than buy a new replica set.

Repair your OEM wheels and re-shoe.

As I've said in another thread, had a set of RS4 reps(on a VW Bora) from these guys and 3 out of 4 buckled, and of course they didn't want to know.

OEM 18s on my S3 were all buckled.
Avoid Avon though. Pile of sh**e.

Chris.

I guess the OEM 18's your talking about were the RSTT/4 design?

For some reason they were really soft and not very strong at all.
