Convertible hood cover sticking

Hi

When I lower the roof the hood cover gets stuck after unlocking. It raises about 3 inches then sticks.
If I give it a gentle lift it then raises under its own power and completes the full cycle.
Any ideas what causes it to stick ?

Not sure but I would check the fluid level , even though the system is sealed it can drop. If you have access to vcds check for fault codes, if one of the micro switches is playing up it can interrupt the sequence too.

That and check all hinges and lubricate them for smoothness.
