    1.8t bfb misfire with fault codes please help

    Hi there just after a little help and advice I have a 04 audi a4 ltd edition 1.8t 163 I have had it a week now and has a constant what I think is a misfire as when you drive it it vibrates like mad not to bad low in the rev range but the higher you rev the worse it gets any simple ideas of what it could be these are the codes it threw up today ImageUploadedByTapatalk1389561075.286730.jpg thanks for the advice dan

    Hi and welcome.

    Can't read your codes from the pic very well. Can you please copy and paste/type them onto here?

    Have you checked the spark plugs? Coils sometime fail so it could be a coil pack. There was a recall on coil packs, check that your car has had/had not had the recall.

    17698 coolant temp sensor (g83)
    P1290 002 signal to small intermittent

    16891 idle control system rpm
    P0507 001 higher than expected

    18010 power supply terminal 30
    P1602 002 voltage too low intermittent

    18062 please check dtc memory of instrument cluster
    P1654 004 intermittent

    P1602 & P1654 could be battery. Low power when cranking car. BUT I sometimes get the P1654 code when I turn on my HID lights. Do you HID lights installed? After-market type?

    P1290....try changing your CTS. Does the gauge sit at 90? With engine up to temp, use VCDS to monitor the temp.

    P0507....Not sure. Do the 1.8's have an IAC valve? Check for leaks/drawing in more air than expected.

    When was the fuel filter last changed/car fully serviced?

    Well computer is showing service in 7500 miles I have a new cts to go in and my full vcds should be here tomorrow temp sits at 90 compression is all ok I think between 160- 185 dan

    im having the same trouble im just waiting for replys on my finding on my latest thread lol , anyway try your coilpacks , try audi to see if theres any recalls , i did and got sorted free , there even going to do a 80 point check , bet theres a right list after ha ha

    Went in for coils and they wouldn't do them as they have been changed for non oem ones lol

    ive got 2 coils oem ending in R, and 2 bosch for some reason , im trying to get 2 more genuine failed ones so they will replace all 4.

    update on the running issue still as bad as ever have logged the lambda values hoping somone can tell me if im right in thinking i have a vac leak thanks dan
