Hi, as soon as it stops raining I'm going to install two egr blank plates I recently purchased. Egr not responding well in this weather! Think its the operating solenoid. .

Can someone deffinitively tell me if I need to disconnect any vac pipes from the egr if I fit the plates or am I just good to go?

Presumably the egr valve still moves if vac pipes are still connected.

Quite hopeful I wont get eml as this is a 2001 model, AWX engine

Thanks Tim

You wont get an eml on a 2001.

Disconnect vac pipe and block with a small bolt.

As far as I know only 1 blank is required between exhaust manifold and egr feed pipe.

Thanks for this, should I remove and plug the vac pipe to the top of the egr and the manifold flap below? Or just one of these?

Have a look at my build there is a how to for this, but I haven't removed the vac pipe ATM as I'm planing on replacing all my vac lines. You need a plate at either end, or you risk the s shaped pipe bursting under load.

On Jim's build thread he's totally removed the egr feed pipe, needing 2 blanks.

I've kept mine in place and used 1 sloted slip in blank on the exhaust manifold bottom end.

Great thanks for this, I read through the build very helpful
