I bought my car second-hand, and for some silly reason it only has the auto-dimming interior mirror. I've found this to be one of the most useful extras on the car, but I still get blinded by the exterior mirrors. Is it possible to replace the mirror glass in the exterior mirrors with auto-dimmimg glass? They are heated, so there is power there. How does the glass actually darken?

unfortunately, he glass actually moves the same as if you were flipping a manual anti-dazzle one.

The only anti-dazzle wind mirrors i've seen are the ones with the blue tint to them, and they're not that great.

Not sure about you 'big' boys, but on the A3, the interior and exterior mirrors are photo-chromatic, i.e. they don't move they electronically tint.

It's the best extra i've ever had on a car.

I agree with you Eeef, my interior mirror is photo-chromatic. So it should be a pretty straight forward retro-fit for the exterior ones as there is already power going to the mirror?
