hi this car is starting to annoy me , as above would vagcom tell me why the display said BRAKE? , would it say this if the fluid was low?

This has only happened to me when I once drove off with the handbrake on, but would check the fluid and front brake wear asap

could be a few things:
1. battery starting to die,
2. brake pads running low
3. handbrake switch

give your brakes a good check over visually.

Mine has just started doing this again. Fairly sure it's the battery on mine as the nights are getting cold here in Scotland and I'm doing short journeys to work so the battery isn't at its best, but that said it's the same battery the car came with 2 years ago and it's not let me down so it ain't getting changed.
Just to be sure though get the car scanned for fault codes and check your brake fluid and pad level.

I had a fault on the scanner it was 01826 which was steering sensor position which was strange because my scanner was scanned under the abs section.
