Sports model door skirts

Pop in a local garage (which has been good up to now with their service) to replace rear pads. The guy pulls my driverside door to move it off the ramp arms and catches a small part of the molding (skirting) and leaves it out of shape with a crack. What can i do to rectify this situation? should i try and force the bit back in, or would it break off completely or make it look worse?
