Anyone use Genuine Audi Roof Bars? (with a box)

The later type which are silver bars and have a black piece running through the middle.

Is this black piece made of rubber? Is it removable to put a clamp through it which goes into the roofbox?

Yes it's a rubber strip. You can either remove it totally or cut a section out where the clamps are. Thule sell replacement strips I think which are the same.

Thanks for the reply. I've sort of jumped in and bought some bits off ebay without really looking.

I've bought the genuine audi bars, in silver with the strip. Also a Kamei Corvara box with clamps which slide into bars, so am hoping the all marry together ok to save me buying extra clamps

I imagine the capped bolts which slide down the bars would be fairly similar.

Looks like this, may slide in the groove but will have to double check upon receipt of both items
