Steering noise, any ideas?

I'm getting a noise from my steering, but only when the car has been driven for 30 minutes or so. it sounds like rubber rubbing/squeaking, when the car gets cold it goes.
Followed the sound back and it appears to come from beyond the bulkhead.
Car only done 34,000 miles (2 yrs old) booked into dealer, but does anybody have any idea in the meantime?

New steering rack!!! bit scary at this mileage. Under warranty.

Mine does the same thing......2004 A4 3.0

22,000 miles just over 2 years old.

Im pushing for the new rack.

Well, it went in today for the new rack, good news you would think? but at 3.30 I got a call to tell me I can't have it back until tomorrow as they've scratched it!!!!!!!!!
Apparently they think it will mop out, if not I'm not sure where we go, as i don't really want it to have paint.

What next?
