BEX 1.8t oil filters

Ok can anyone shed some light on this please last time i changed the oil i used genuine filter that was normal size and fitted my oil filter wrench (gen audi) today i pick up filter from audi and this thing is huge, checked on etka yes there are 2 filters listed rang audi dealer and he says that's the one for my car, wtf and what gives???

Think the bigger ones are an update because the bex engines don't hold much oil anyway, gives it that tad more so I was told anyway I'm sure someone will correct me otherwise
