SCSM for DIS

Here is my part number 8E0 953 549 S is this the part I require for DIS upgrade only?

Also does my washer bottle already have the sensor, pic below, and therefore no need to gnd pin 1?

the sensor for the wash bottle is located down behind the wheel arch lining in the lower section of the bottle so If you don't have dis as standard I dowt it will be there. mine wasn't but it only takes 20mins to fit.

and ross tech wikki lists the sccm's and what each can do - it says all do 'trip computer' but i don't know if that means DIS, or of any f or s models that run dis???!!!

I think your right sccm only needs upgrading when doing cruise control.

Yep, all SCSMs are DIS compatible so the minimum you need is a DIS wiper stalk and VCDS to code it. I've read of some people earthing the washer sensor pin at the instrument cluster to save the trouble of running the wiring to the washer bottle.
