I'm looking at changing my wheels, I've a sport avant so doesn't sit bad standard
I'm thinking 18's or 19's and staggered fit
what offset would sit perfect in the arches but not rub even when fully loaded

Well I got 8.5j 18" rims with 225/40/18 tyres ET 29 and they sit pretty much flush with no rubbing at all. (But they did rub with 245/40 tyres first of all)

My Zenders are 8.5 x 18 et 33 and i run 235 40 18 (S4 std tyres) on a Q drivetrain with no issues, as Kriss's the rims and tyres (particularly with conti's) are near in line with arch.

It's not just tyre width, as Kris has found, the profile is important too as 245 40's are 12-18mm bigger (diameter) as well as being that much wider.

Have a look at the sticky as there's a bit more guidance there.

I have have bmw tiger claws 19s 9j front 10j rear.

front - 9j et32 215/35/19s no problems at all
rears - 10j et29 235/35/19s absolute nightmare, stick out too far, tyre wall scraps on arch with no load, and the tread actually scrapes on the entire inner wheels splash gaurd. I rarely have passengers, and rear tyres lasted 6months :(

Sorry didn't really know where else to put it but it worked I got a reply lol cheers new to this lol

I'm runnin 8x19" rs6 replicas. Not 100% sure on offset but will check and they sit perfectly. I'm runnin standard sport suspension with b5 perches up front. Tyres are 235/35 and I do get some rubbin. Over bumps when fully loaded but a set of 225/35's would solve that
