Hi Guys,
Does anybody know anything about heated seats? The driver's seat in my A4 suddenly got VERY hot! Even on position 1 after only a couple of minutes the base is so hot that it feels like my butt is on fire... I guess it must be thermostatically controlled,and it's given up... Please could somebody tell me if my suspicion's are correct,and where to find the offending item? Is this something I can do myself (fairly competent),or is it a main stealer job?

IIRC the seats are controlled by a variable resistor, not thermostat.

Is there a hot spot, or is the whole seat cooking? what about the back of the seat, is that normal, or cooking too?

Thanx for the reply,there is a hotspot,right on my left buttock cheek! I had wondered if this means that the element is broken in some way.. The rest of the seat seems to work as it should,but that particular part is unbearable!
