Audi A4 BOSE retrofit

I have bought everything needed to swap my car over to BOSE and i am having it installed by a company next week.
I just want to know what would happen if i never changed the MIC when doing the upgrade?

The mic that is located in the interior light wich adjusts the volume level at different speeds as far as i know

Ah, I never new it was there. Mine only adjusts slightly at low volumes and speeds so don't feel a need for it. Not sure if you can install without it though
