Air Con Pressure Switch - Where From?!

Just got an air con pressure switch to swap out as it had the code fault on VCDS.

The replacement one is far too long to fit and the threads don't engage before the barrel bottoms on the fitting.

I purchased it from GSF (should have known better!!) and it's the only one they list for my reg:

    AIR CON PRESSURE SWITCH 268VG0040

The part number I need from VAGcat seems to be: 8E0959126 , can anyone confirm?

Euro Car Parts only list one switch which looks vaguely correct is this one however the body in the picture is far too long like the one I got from GSF:

Audi | Euro Car Parts UK’s No.1 Car Parts Retailer

I'm only reluctant to get it from Audi as they've quoted me £57 + VAT for a bloody switch.

Where else is a reliable source?

Yes I noticed on VAGcat it was referred to as 'thrust sensor', random name for what it does, maybe a shady translation?

TPS as in Trade Parts Specialists?

Spent ages trawling online for one tonight, might just bite the bullet and go to Audi...

TPS came up trumps! Nice one. I went to Euro Car Parts on the way and the one they offered was identical to the GSF one. I just don't get it how from the same part number two such large companies can't supply the correct part!

Anyway the ECON light now goes out and the compressor fires up but it only asthmatically wheezes lightly chilled air so I guess it needs a re-gas. Will have to ask the boss nicely tomorrow...
