I've seen conflicting opinions about this and read so many threads across various forums that I have got myself beyond confused. Ignoring peoples opinions on the noise it makes, are there any pros or cons to going for a straight-thru system, i.e. no silencers, on a 1.9 TDi 130?

Second question, what is the standard exhaust pipe diameter on a non-quattro 1.9 TDi?

I dont think theres any cons with a straight through.
Pros...improved top end and should help out mpg,a little

Noise depends on the tails pipes really. And if you have no silencers at all,you wont hear your radio!

2.25" i think

I have straight throught twin pipes on mine no cat either so turbo bck is pure stainless pipe to tail pipes and I love the noise even though its a bit too loud at times sounds like a v8 and also get turbo whistle which I also like the sound off I cant say ive noticeces huge improvements anywhere if any but it does sound great lol.
