Should it go all the way up and down with one firm push? It goes up with one push, but not down all the way. Seems strange?

Soft push/pull for auto up/down, firm push/pull for stop when released. If you're gentle with the switches you should feel/hear the two clicks in each direction. Could be your switch has seen better days.

Cheers mate, I did find a thread about cleaning contacts on the stitches, I will just live with it rather than strip the door. Will try the soft touch on my way home tonight.

Scratch my previous...it's the opposite to what I said. Soft touch for manual and firm press for auto
