CVT problem please help! A4 1.8T (190) SLINE

I have a problem with the cvt box , my garage say its the torque converter (which i believe is the cluch in an auto????)

basically when i pull off it does a judder very slight and occasionally in other gears............

anyway i need a specialist in the midlands to have a look and do the works please help

also what sort of price am i looking at?

Not in the midlands, but I've saved these as a seller on ebay in case I have any issues with my CVT, they came recommended on here tadeusz1978 | eBay

Might be worth calling them and talking them through your issues, they might be able to advise what the fault is. It sounds like a clutch issue, has your car had the 6 to 7 plate upgrade?

i dont know tbh, no documents to say it has?

can the 6 to 7 be done on a petrol as i have been ringing around for quotes and one specialist said it cannot be done on the petrol 1.8t (190) is this correct?

I now have the car in a garage the first thing they are doing is changing the tensioner pulley ... Which they say is a common issue

but they say that this will still not stop the judder issue and have quoted me £1600 to supply and fit the 7 clutch pack, software update and gear box fluid. They said the parts alone are £955? Is this correct as a garage further a field say they can do it £1140? Which sounds great but its miles away I have to trains back a forth plus the petrol but if it saves money?

I still can't afford it right now so any specialist / prices would be very helpful. Thanks.

Yeah he is some guy doing it out of his garage, who is refurbing the plates not changing it to a 7 clutch plate. And the 6 month gaurentee is basically his word? He could probably do it perfectly well but I am not going to risk it !
