My 1.9tdi 130 has 165k on it and runs like new.
but last night a bad vibration/ rattle started and boom! Clutch has went.

so it's up te garage now getting sorted with a £380 bill slapped to it. :(

but I thought I'd get the timing belt done aswell :(

So big bill and few days off the road but nice new parts on and hopefully another good few thousand miles

Sorry fan that's just for the clutch, and they taking the gear box out now. So i don't know if its going to be done.

its my families garage so it's all good. Timing belt will be just the extra cost on parts.

Is it with doing the flywheel too? As I don't know the the extent of the garage yet

Ive always been told its best to do both, mine is going to want doing soon as im getting a small vibration coming off the clutch,

Well I'm going up the garage tomorrow and il see how bad the flywheel is. But I only got vibration for half a day before the clutch went.
so might be lucky.

il keep you updated

165k is very good for a clutch. Mine went at 80k (on my quattro, after a remap!) I didn't change the flywheel though, just clutch and I'm on 130k now and all is well.
I've been lucky with my b6, as I'm third owner from new an my mate ( the previous owner) only had it for 3/4months.
all motorway miles.
so hopefully won't need a flywheel.

Well the clutch is done, inc new flywheel, and new cv boots.

it was the original oem clutch, which is excellent for 165k miles.

also getting new gearbox oil aswell fr goo measure
