S4 (B6) Engine Speed Sensor location

Quick one guys,

Can someone please tell me where the engine speed sensor is on these 4.2 lumps? Have looked around and only found guides relating to other engines (eg B6 A4 1.8T: Engine Speed Sensor (G28) Replacement).

Don't want to be undoing the wrong one (crank position etc)!!!

hi again,

i got hold of elsawin thinking it would show me the location, but i cant find it! anyone know where it's located please? or will it be pretty obvious if i get the car on some ramps?

the vehicle speed sensor is on the front axle behind the back of the brake disc
pretty sure its the passenger side

just trying to find the engine speed sensor now

white/grey connector on the firewall just behind the coolant reservoir
trace it down with your hands
its a ***** to get too ... in some cases it might even be worth removing the catalytic convertor on that bank for ease of access

do you have a manual or a tip ??? theres even less room with a tip , but you can lower the gearbox subframe down to gain better access
