window shades vs tinting

There are several members in the B6 and B7 sections that has theses and they all seem to speak highly of them.

I'm on the look out for a set for my B5.

noticed these yesterday and i was very tempted.
Last time i tinted a saloon car i was right stressed with limited access to rear window so this could be a good idea

Edit.. just bought them as i found them on sale :sly:

Ill get pics up when they arrive

I have those shades on my Avant rear windows , they are a good alternative to tints. I couldn't get on with the split rear screen one though so I use the others & pull up the sunblind in the load cover.

Pic below but doesn't show them very well..

yes iv just noticed the rear one is split :(
I cant even have a dirty window so this will test me

They look the part, but they look like they have a greyish colour to them??

It may be the pic giving that impression, they don't appear grey in the flesh.

Found another pic..

I have the perfect fit blinds and I think they are a better option than tints as you can take them out when ever you want and half the price of tints.

The split rear is not a problem to be honest, i thought i would have real issues with it but you get used to it.

I have a set, and had a set on my previous car. More than happy with them. Obviously they are not tints but they def shade the back of the car. Can drive with them in and widows open, so no bugs flying in etc Very easy to pop out if you don't want them in. They are black in colour, mesh and frame. I genuinely don't think you will be disappointed. The pics below may or may not help but it all helps you form an idea of what to expect

ordered mine thursday and they were here for me when i got in tonight!

amazing build quality and look smart, wll fit tomorrow

The blinds look good, but tinting is pretty much the same price. There are 1 or 2 tinkers around my way so they have to be competitive. £110 for the rear 3/4 of the car and £150 for all round tints.
