    Question S4 ARB or RS4 ARB?

    In relation to fitting to a TDI 130 Avant Sport, which would you folk recommend?

    Do both the S4 and RS4 need new brackets, and can you get these with the bar?

    use the old brkts ,just need new bushes , get an rs4 arb , much better !

    Fitted the RS4 to my Avant a month or so back, top mod.

    I wouldn't even consider the S4 one over the RS4 It's not as if the RS4 one is expensive,

    go for it, it makes a very noticeable difference to the handling.

    RS4 rear anti-roll bar, all the way. Works a treat on B6 and B7 models, especially the V6s.

    Does it increase the work that the rear tyres and suspension have to do?

    If your going to make the most of the better handling you will have with the RS4 arb then sure you will be giving your tyres especially a harder time as for the suspension...not really. Use your old drop links unless they are showing signs of wear, you will need new brackets and bushes due to the increase in diameter. Worth all the effort.

    The overall size of the brackets is the same between the diesel, s or rs models ! it's the internal diameter of the bush that's different and as above rs4 all the way ! I have it on a FWD 1.9 tdi which crapped it's gearbox after a big power hike, it made it handle really like a quattro in the dry ! Still no substitute for the quattro in the wet !

    The sport models have very little body roll anyway, I still get the feeling that the 22mm bar would be too stiff

    NO and double no, the quattro sport has some body roll with the RS4 arb fitted the balance between stiffness and roll is perfect, you turn into corners with added confidence. Try it if you don't like it there will be plenty of takers on this forum alone who would buy it off you, but I bet you won't sell it!

    Do it - I fitted my RS4 ARB along with coilovers and new front suspension arms - will never look back. Handles great for an estate!

    i changed mine on my s4
    gave me better turn in as a result which was good , but on the downside it doesnt change direction as fluidly as it did before

    make the anti roll bar too stiff for the rest of the car and there will be consequences

    RS4 on my Sport and works a treat. Make sure you get the matching bushes and larger clamps with new bolts as my bolt were corroded badly.

    Yes, but they still have lots of understeer, which the 22mm RS4 anti-roll bar will reduce considerably.

    Living in Milton Keynes, tyres get a harder time due to all the roundabouts, hence I am still erring towards the S4 bar to allow for this

    Can i ask off what year rs4 do i need to get for my b6? I wont to do this mod right as have been putting it off but am readu to buy and am going to tps this week want to get it all thanks

    it needs to be from the b7 andieo
    the mod increases turn in , but as a consequence reduces rear grip coming out of the corners
