Springs or Coilovers?

I am looking at lowering my wifes Avant 1.8T B6

I am on quite a tight budget (£400) and I want to maintian the best ride quality as possible as she would not be happy carting the kids to school in a very firm harsh ride.

I am not looking for a major low ride but maybe something around 40/50mm drop.

The way I see it I have two options:

1) Some cheapy coilover like the JOM ones
or
2) Some decent springs only like the Eibach Pro Spring Kit and maybe b5 perches.

So what woudl be my best option for decent comfortable ride with a nice stance.

From what you've said I'd say go for a good quality set of springs and shocks which will give you a better ride quality over coilovers or just changing the springs.

What spring/shock combo would you recommend?

Also what about the b5 perches? Would that drop the front a little more without to much ride quality loss?

Something like the AP kit is a good option and with it having a 40mm/30mm stance you shouldn't really need to use the B5 perches.
