a4 2.5 tdi quattro sport steering rack no assist??

Hi all, my first post, hopefully someone can help.

Had my a4 2.5 [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]TDI[/COLOR][/COLOR] Quattro for 2 years now and just had the sterring rack replaced by my local garage.

I supplied the rack and 99% sure its corect (has the bolt on [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]speed [COLOR=blue !important]sensor[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR])

Its all gone back together nicely but the steering is not getting any assist?

Pressure is going to the rack....

all very strange, any help apprecited.

Ok car is Still off the road two weeks later and still can't find the problem: fluid and pressure going to the brand new rack but still no assist? could it be something to do with the speed sensor that bolts on the rack being faulty or a cracked wire, don't even know where i could get a wiring diagram !! Any help appreciated!

Has the vehicle been scanned for faults?

Hi thanks for the post, yes they scanned it for faults....nothing! the crazy thing is it was all working before it got took apart, the old rack just had excessive play in it.

Did they bleed the air from the system ? needs a few lock to lock turns and with 1-2 sec pauses with wheels straight. I do hope they used genuine fluid too !

yeah they have done the full lock to lock mans times, but now joy. they think its something do with the servotronic sensor but I'm not convinced as even if this was faulty at least there would be somme power assist?? Its looking like putting it all back together agin with the old rack (hopefully that will work again) then go from there.
Anybody know any good power steering specialists in the North East of Enland / Newcastle area..... thanks for all help so far
