Just a quick question for the 2.5TDi gurus.
My battery light came on whilst driving earlier.
Checked the voltage to the battery whilst the engine was on, it was reading 11.6v
I took a quick look at the alternator and found it was covered and dripping with oil.
I managed to trace the leak back to the cam oil seal on the left bank of cylinders, its dripping down the block then onto the alternator.
My question is - do these cam oil seals become loose?
It was new 7 months ago when the new cams were fitted - im hoping by some miracle I may be able to "push" it back into place, but if not im guessing the cam needs to be removed?
As for the alternator, how hard is it to replace with the front end in service mode?
Thanks!
