Well after picking my new rims up yesterday from SIXONETWO in Luton i got back to my workshop and fitted them up with new tyre then had to call it a day, this morning i met up with my brother-in-law at his workshop as i need my spacers modified to cope with the new rim width and offset that was simple took 1mm off the rears so they are now 19mm (need that 1mm to stop rubbing) then came to the fronts which actually needed more adding 3mm so they are now 18mm fortunately my brother-in-law knocked them up:

Then the next little issue was that my extended wheel bolts were designed for OEM radius fitment and the new wheels needed 60 degree taper so he sorted that out too:

once all this was done i was ready to fit the new wheels.....

Last pic of the RS6 reps:

Here is a one new one old wheel looking at this pic you would never believe there's only an inch difference, the new one looks more like 20"....

Here's one of the reasons i wanted to upgrade my wheels in the first place, to show my brakes off:laugh:

Perfect match to the car, beautiful wheels :hubbahubba:

Shockingly good, wow.
You doing anything about the rear brakes? S4's maybe?

i'm sorry, they don't do anything for me. The size, the brakes, the slight stretch in the tyres, much prefer the oem look.

No worries you always get those how dont like anything but OEM,

Im not one of them:)

Very nice mate! Big difference that, and big up the dolphin grey! ;)

As far as I know he doesn't. Unless he's changed it, it's apex 40mm lowering springs and b5 perches on the front. I should know...I copied him haha.

The new wheels look amazing mate, proper mint. Love what you've done with the car.

Nice mate, are they 18's and what's the off set of the wheels before adding spacers??

Thanks

My new wheels are 19's 8.5" wide and ET40 offset.

My old wheels (RS6 reps) were 18's 8"wide and ET35

This pic shows one old wheel and one new wheel as a comparison:

Yeah I went through all this when I fitted my fat fives, I ended up with a 30mm offset, I think I could still push them out another 5mm on the rear...

With my spacers fitted it makes the equivalent offsets of front 18mm spacer so ET22 and rear 19mm spacer ET21 both 8.5" rim

Are you running any spacers with your fat fives?

Yes mate 15mm all round so I have a 30mm offset as they are et45, bet yours stick out past the arch????

They do stick out only a little but i get no rubbing even with 4up and a boot full.

I'd say you could easily go another 5mm with no issues

I had probs with one of my wheels sticking out a little further than the other, had it put (almost) right by a garage who did the alignment, any probs like that on yours?? You start to notice it when bringing the rims level with the arch

I haven't had a problem with any sitting out further than the other i did my alignment my self, I do run high neg camber on my rears to prevent rubbing positive from that is the handling is improved negative is tyre ware but as im in the trade tyres are so cheap for me im not worried about it

Im loving the bit of poke im running not over the top and it makes for an aggressive wide stance

haha, its all good fella, Idealy I want the top of my rims to be dead flush with my arch, do with your lathe man after i buy some 20mm, fit them then measure how much to take off!
