APU engine instead of AVJ

looking for a low mileage AVJ engine and cant seem to find any for a reasonable price
i have found a few APU engines but need to know if they fit ok

Also been offered a 2000 passat with 1.8t engine but dont know engine code yet
Do the engines fit from the passat

Not a hundred percent but depends what your looking for but im sure most the engine blocks are the same. Its just differences in the heads and ancillarys. There is a web site somewhere that explains the differences.

oil light came on the dash 1 mile b4 service station loss of power then as i pulled onto services car cut out and dumped a load of oil and wouldn't start after
