Shaking Stevens when I depress clutch!

Hi, my 1.9 tdi a4 b6 shakes from side to side....as if someones outside pushing it from side to side but only when i press the clutch at tickover. When i release the clutch the shaking stops. It also has a slight rattling sound from the engine when it starts up in the morning (more than the normal diesel noise)....it's as if something metal is loose in the engine, but when it's warm it doesn't do it. It drives fine, no clutch judder or slip. I can feel a slight vibration through the accelerator though. Any help please? Thanks

Sounds like a worn engine or transmission mount. What's the mileage?

How long can the DMF last if it's like this?

Will you do it yourself? Is it an easy job?

Not much good with spanners afraid, but i have a couple of good mechanics on hand when i decide to do it, the cost of clutch flywheel was £360 but thats only because girlfriend is in the trade and ive got it at cost,
just as a guide the stealers wanted nearly 1k not inc fitting...
