Hi all,

has anyone changed a brake pad warning sensor and are they hard work? Mine has snapped off from the caliper end, probably a pot hole.

Also, I can hear a clonking noise when coming off the accelerator but nothing under braking. Was thinking engine mount but open to other suggestions.

thanks

Dean.

the warning sensor is the brake pad
has the wire snapped ?
the clonking could be a number of things
like top arms the c shaped link ball joint etc.

Brake pad sensors are really easy - I don't think you can actually buy the sensor as such, as they come fitted to the brake pads.

You can however cut the wire and solder together.

The way the sensors work is that when the pad gets low, they wear through the wire, which brakes the circuit and throws the dash light.

either replace pads
wire it back togeather
or bypass it till your ready for new pads.
