Hi guys, noticed today for the first 5-10 seconds of starting my car, engine sound a touch rough/rattly/dry... A bloke I work with reckons its the injectors need a clean... What dya think???
And if it is likely to be this is it just a case of getting some injector cleaner?

cheers

what engine?

could just be the lack of oil around the engine most rattle a little for a few seconds till the hydraulic followers get some oil

could try a thicker oil in it with the weather getting colder

*thinner.

This could possibly be due to the oil strainer being slightly clogged and not supplying oil to the top end quick enough.
The oil strainer clogging is a common issue with the longitudinal 1.8T engine.

try thin oil for the winter because the cold temperatures will cause the oil to thicken slightly. Likewise, you want thicker oil for the summer because the high temperatures will thin the oil slightly.
