Buying parts ?

I am looking to get a few parts
Only thing confusing me a little is the Vin number reference
It says 8E-2-297 100 or 8E-2-297 101
Im guessing anything up to and including the complete sequence of numbers is one option and anything above the full sequence is the other option
I was assuming that the Vin would end either 100 or 101 (as daft as it sounds i thought this might be the case)
The only part of my Vin that matches is the 8E

Mine is an 04 plate, so its the one ending 101

1.9 TDi >02 >8E2297100 038 198 119
1.9 TDi 02> 8E2297101> 038 198 119A

Its a cambelt kit im looking at
The 100 kit has an option of a damper or not
101 kit does not show this option, im guessing the later models dont have/need the damper
