Hi guys n gals....

My petrol flap lock mechanism has snapped off at the joint between the metal rod and plastic on the mechanism. I've sourced a new part and intend fitting it next weekend.

Is there an easy way to remove the mechanism as it looked as though the fixings were awkward to get at?

i may be wrong, but if someone can give me a quick guide I'd really appreciate it..

TIA,

Alan

OK guys. Quite a simple job only took 15 minutes and that was with stripping and refitting all the boot trim too....

The petrol flap lock motor fixings just need twisting with a pair of pliers as though you are going to tighten them up (they are only nipped up anyway so no excessive force is required). This undoes the screws and the lock mechanism will slide off.

Fitment of the new part is the same as removal only in reverse... (As the Haynes manual says)

I hope this helps someone in the future...
