High revs

Hi all,

Over the weekend when I started the car, the revs went up to around 1500 for about 2 seconds then went down to under 1k revs where it normally is.

Have been off sick most of this week so not used my car, but when using it this morning I was driving along and when taking my foot off the accelerator the revs would stay where it was, say 2.5k or 3k revs for about 2 or 3 seconds then it would drop in a chunk and go down as it normally would, so the speed stays at what it was then all of a sudden after a few seconds it decelerates as expected. Really weird feeling, and never had it before - anyone got any ideas?

I've got a A4 1.9tdi 130 Sport Quattro.

Would this log a code that I can read?

I've read it on a couple of other forums:

Audi World (1.9 tdi revs too high)

Hopefully it will be that and nothing more expensive .

Is this the same sensor that you replace when the car reads the temp as between 50 and 90, but never at 90?

Not yet, but I have new sensors sitting at home waiting to be fitted

Good good, hopefully that will cure you issues! If not you'll be flexing the wallet and looking deeper into the engine bay!
