Hi all,
Who knew servicing a car could be so much "fun"! Lol.. Bought all the service parts about 2 weeks ago, thought I'll do it all as the weather is nice.
First issue, seem to have a leak on one of the seals around the EGR area..
Have disconnected the cable going to the EGR and stuck a screw in the end. Then went on to the oil filter - just couldn't budge it! Even with a oil filter removal tool! While trying to remove this, the dipstick holder snapped off - great! Ordered a new one from eBay for a whole £2.90 but just blocked it off for now so the oil doesn't go everywhere!
Left the oil filter in, need to get a proper tool for it
Moved on to the rear brake pads, would the brakes budge.. nope. Also when removing the wheel found a big screw in the tyre lol.
Then when I wanted to go out this afternoon the battery had completely died.. I knew it was on the way out but think it just needed to round the day off haha!
Charged the battery so I could get the car where it needed to be and now I have the fuel warning light come on, the screen says 0 miles and the gauge shows as empty.. There is 3/4's of fuel in there :S Is this just a case of removing the fuse and putting it back in? If so which one is it please?
Anyhow, that was an interesting day.. think I deserved those beers this evening
