    Boost pipes popping off !!!

Hi guys just wondering if anyone can advise me.

A couple of times recently if ive given the car (1.9 tdi 130) some beans a boost hose has popped off (two seperate places).

A mate of a mate who specialises in diesels has said i need to replace all the boost pipes, whereas other people have said I just need to replace the seals.

Anyone know the correct answer?? Also, if i do need to replace the whole pipes, how much £££ am I looking at. Am i right in thinking there are 3 boost pipes to replace??

    any help much appreciated.

    cheers

    Steve

Go for silicone boost pipes (not sure which for a tdi) you will prob get a good price for a kit and then some good quality clips to put them on with. Silicone is strong and will last for as long as you own the car in most cases. Found this for you but I don't think its for your particular motor, bit expensive but that's what you want tbh SFS Silicone Turbo-Intercooler Boost Hose Kit 1.9Tdi 100/115PD Volkswagen Golf 4 | eBay

I've got a tdi 130 also i've just had the same problems. The intercooler one with metal bayonet fitting are around £40 from dealers. The turbo s shaped one is expensive from dealers i think around £150 there is only one company from germany(i think) that makes these apart from vag, I ordered mine off ebay from germany think it was just over £80 new with delivery and was on my doorstep 2 days later i'll find listing soon. Oh the 3rd pipe that connects to egr is around £20 on audi stoke parts website but you may aswell spend another £40 on a egr delete kit and silicone bend.

P.s. you need to remove the pipes to check the condition of the metal bayonet fitting as on both of mine it was only one side that had gone. Also when you remove you can cut the metal ends off carefully and then just buy a bayonet fitting that attaches with jubilee clip so you have spares. HTH

    cheers for the info guys.

so its defo not just a case of replacing the seals?

shame as those are only a fiver each as opposed to the shocking price audi are charging for the whole pipes!!

    cheers

You may aswell remove them to check the hoses first then you know what you need. surely they cant all be popping off. I went to skoda as it was only down the road from me and bought a seal first for intercooler to charge pipe, fitted it went up the road and it blew off that's when i doscovered that one of the lugs was goosed and i lost the brand new seal. 2 weeks after fitting another hose the turbo one done exactly the same thing. So i reckon if they have never been replaced they will probs all fail not that far apart.

p.s. you may aswell remove your intercooler and clean it while your undertray and hoses are off it may of never been done.
