Avant seat release broken

I went to drop the seats earlier today, and as all avant drivers will know you first do the smaller side as the parcel shelf being attached to the larger size prevents the larger going first. It was a little stiff to release when you pull the lever on the top of the seat so i pulled a little harder and the lever snapped, well not totaly but enough so when you pull it all that happens is the crack opens up.

So is there a way of dropping this seat without pulling the lever, can you get in somehow to get at the mechanism to do this, and is the lever replaceable.
