fuel gauge?

I've got a niggly problem with my fuel gauge, if I give it a good trash with less than half a tank my fuel gauge drops rapidly until fuel light comes on, if I then refill it it will normally take about 50 quid of v power but only shows just over half a tank, eventually (sometimes around 150 miles) it will make its way back towards a full tank, thanks

could be the reader in the tank, my fuel gauge has a mind of its own too sometimes, i can put in half a tank and soon it will drop to 1/3 or another one is it goes down the red and the warning light comes on, park up and turn the engine off and upon restart it shows its fully empty, put £20 in and it shows almost 1/3 of a tank again, Iv even watched it just drop to fully empty from 1/4 of a tank and then a few mins later return to 1/4 tank mark, i will one day get into this issue and see whats doing on as i do have spare parts to fix the issue,

I've had both the sender's changed, New fuel pump, New filter, and gauges checked,
