Service indicator changing

Hi

Does anyone know how to reset the service indicator from variable to fixed servicing? My car is a 1.9tdi 2001. I've just reset after an oil change but it was set for the variable.

Unfortunately not. It just says how to reset!

You need VAS5052 or Vagcom and you have to change the adaption channels of the dash pod so it knows that you have changed the oil spec, min max days for service etc etc. Takes about 20 mins to do and your dealer will be able to do this no probs.

Quite strangely I have just checked the service indicator and it says 348 days or 8400 miles. I only reset from what was a variable service indicator!

I wonder if standard is for it to reset to fixed servicing?

I've used an oil spec that conforms to 503.01 and 505.00 rather than the 505.01 or 506.01 (see oil spec thread). Could this have had an effect?
