Wiper recommendations....?

Hey all,

Sooo I need some new wipers- not an area im experienced in as ive never had to change a set before so dont know whats good and whats not- or how to fit them lol.

I was told that bosch are the best brand but is this the case?

Also how do I identify the right ones for my A4 (links to recommendation...)?

I could of corse just buy them from audi but im sure theyre overpricing something I can get cheaper elsewhere.

What car and year do you have. Mines came with factory fit aero wipers as was one of the last b6's

These are a good upgrade If you have standard wipers.

Have a search for aero wiper upgrade on here for more info.

Bosch are the way to go, you pay more, but the are a lot better.

I think you can only fit genuine wipers on th B6.

You may be surprised. I had mine done at my local Audi dealer and they supplied and, more importantly for me, fitted them while I waited and charged less than Halfords wanted for their equivalent wipers which I would then have had to fit myself.

Probably for many on here the fitting of wipers is considered a simple job but personally I'd rather have my local dealer do it for me as they know exactly which wipers are required and how to fit them properly.

Well ive procrastinated on this and the main blade came off today and I have my MOT days away lol...

So 2 options... Bosch, or Guenuine.... which would you pick?

I have the non aero version by the way

Genuine,Bosch are crap,they last only 6months on the front and the rear(i have avant) they was bad at the beginning.

Well thats that decision made for me- went to my local motorists who confirmed what I thought I had read elsewhere- that the wipers on my car are specialist and Audi only as they feature on only like 2 A4s and one VW!

Good thing I have a friend that works at Audi that assuming they have them in stock can get them to me tonight in time for my MOT tomorrow! :O

Do the Aero mod and get the new arms, fit them yourself (worth buying the £10 tool off eBay)... they look better and work better, especially at speed!!

Halfords do cheapo standard wipers for the B6. But as above, get new arms and aero wipers. So much better, smoother and quieter.
Don't get bosch or cheap wipers. They're noisy and crap.
that said... I just chucked some cheap 6 quid ones on the A6 for the le mans trip and apart from the Asda grease wash the mrs has put in the washer bottle. they've done really well.
