2.5 Avant Quattro - Knocking under acceleration.

Morning,

Just wondering if anyone could offer some advice.

My A4 has started knock under acceleration from some part of the drivetrain - sounds like its coming from either the middle or rear of the car.

It only happens in 3rd gear at the higher RPM under full load - even when going straight.

The only way I can compare the sound is if you turn a corner on a bad CV joint - its the same kind of knock.

Have you tried your exhaust mounts, had something similar on my car, and it was down to a knackered mount. Just before you start having to work your way through your quattro system.

its hard to say without rolling under the car mate, best get it up on the ramps and wiggle everything.
