Possible for an engine mount to affect performance?

VCDS has picked up that my electric mount is not working intermittently, and I am getting a banging/vibrating when its not, but also there is a lot less throttle response and performance. So could the loose mount affect performance or do I have another problem?

Could easily, it would feel a bit like a sliping clutch, depending on which way the mount has went it could either be hard all the time or soft, each way is bad though.

now you mention it I thought I felt my clutch slip slightly but it can't be as it's less than 18 months old.
