brakes, what do people recommend

I am needing to change the standard discs and pads on my 1.8t. There are so many different disc and pads to chose from plus different combinations between manufacturers, just want to see what people are using and how they rate them, the car is remapped and saving for ko4 turbo so need something good. I have been offered a set of Brembo calipers from a cupra r, are these worth buying and spending the money to make them fit?

S4 or RS4 jobs would be a good starting point, not sure if anything from other model ranges would fit.....
