Im wondering if anyone can tell me the easiest way of removing the rubber so that i can fix the break in the wires
I can feel someone has crimped them together and one has come loose (door been off at some point?)
My door does not lock on the remote now and interior light stays on
My plan to get in an solder them all with a little extra wire

Remove the rubber ducting?
You'd have to unplug all the door cables from the kick panel near the floor (If the B6 keeps them in the same place as the B5), route them up the A piller and out through the hole near the door and out of the rubber.

I'd pull the ends of the cable out in to the door and the other end in to the car. solder in a longer bit of cable on 1 end, route it through the rubber and then solder the other end where you have more room.

No need to remove it

I would take the door card off and unclip the wire and it will give you more then enough slack

I managed to fix it in situ. Just by pulling the rubber back and tie wrapping it so it didn't keep wanting to close. Then soldered and shrink wrapped the cables.
