Subwoofer Missing

Does every model of the Audi A4 2002 1.9 TDI get a standard subwoofer on the parcel shelf. My one is missing and i can see there is a connector there.

Did i have it as standard and possibly the previous owner took it out?

we had a 2.0 fsi from new and it didnt have a sub but connector was there i just got a second hand 1 and fitted it
