Seat side bolsters

My drivers side seat bolster has started to feel like its collapsing, makes a bit of a funny noise too and looks like it is making the leather peel and crack. I doubt there is any kind of repair to be done. I am going to treat the leather to some products ( on advice from PB which hopefully will help ) but clearly wont help the bolster collapsing.

I have done a search and it doesnt appear to be a common problem. Has anyone had any experience of this or any suggestions.
