Mods so far: Cruise control, DIS, Heated Mirrors, Tuning box, Xenonx, Centre Arm Rest, MFSW, RNS-E, SDS and Aero Wipers.

Next: Auto dip rearview mirror and Folding Mirrors.
Mine does that (1.9) I thought it was the alternator/air-con belt?
Outside Mods: Remap, RS4 RARB, S-Line Front Bumper, Twin Exhausts w/3.5" TT tips.
Inside stuff: Auto headlights with coming home function, auto-dimming mirror/wing mirrors, cruise, iPod link, A3 8P gearknob (because it's tidier), re-trimmed interior in black.
Currently working towards: Auto wipers **DONE**, folding mirrors.
Eyes open for: S-Line door blades/'spoiler.'
A diesel running.
Can you hear it or try and locate it better with the bonnet open?
+1 sounds like a diesel engine to me.................. if you open the bonnet, it will all likely be the big rattly thing in the middle.....Originally Posted by ScottB5

Boost leak? Hard to tell on a vid
it wouldnt be boosting at idle.
fan may be catching on something or air con leaking are my guesses.
2002 a4 1.9 tdi quattro avant sport in black, 191,000 miles.

pumps on the n/s of the engine, run off its own 4 ribbed belt.
About a foot right behind when you show it loudest bud.

well it may be that the air con is at fault as when i tried the air con yesterday it did not blow cold, so, it could be a leaky air con rad as it seems to be coming from there, more news as it comes,
