Hi Guy's, car has just been for an MOT & has failed on the one of the headlights being out of allignment, I have taken the unit out & looked in the back, the problem appears to be the ball & socket adjuster has broken ( the socket is the broken bit ) probably from the previous owner over adjusting the headlights till it snapped.

the question I want to know is....... can this part be purchased or do I have to get a new headlight?

Depends on what part is broken, is it the part that is attached to the lens, or the part attached to the adjustment motor, if it is the motor part, that can be replaced on it's own, if not, new headlight....

I can't quite visualise the bit you mean. Does this help?

Looks like parts 5 & 6 it is the socket which holds the ball part of the adjustment screw that is broken

Part 5 is Headlight Range Control Motor - 1JO 941 295B

Part 6 is an O Ring - +443 941 323

is it defo broken or just the ball joint popped out, noticed mine had popped out other week when i changed my headlight bulb

Yep deffo broken, the nut that the ball pops into has been snapped in half, so the ball does not click into place.

Decided to just buy a new headlight as it was cheapish
