afternoon all ,EMS light came on last week also noticed that temp gauge stopped working and that the cooling fans are constantly on ,could be a connection i think,anyway car in garage to br sorted hoping for a cheap fix ,will keep informed about outcome ,was wondering if buying an odb connector and software was cost effective
Collected car ,there were a few error code mostly to do with engine temps , main one being going into limp home mode and the result being the coolant fan being on constant, after a few tests it's being narrowed down to thermostat or a faulty sender, so the thermostat is going to be replaced, minimum 2-hours labour to replace so not the cheapest
Can't you replace the sender first if thats in question too?

To do: Joey-mod headlights - Twin Exit Exhaust Conversion - Puddle light and Footwell light retrofit - Rear roof spoiler.
WANTED: Unpainted standard front & rear lower valance (with twin exhaust cut outs) - from someone who's doing an S-Line upgrade.
That would be my first choice too... Change the sender. It isnt a hard job either, done in 20 mins

hi all, well thermostat was knackered and also changed temp sender so 284 pounds lighter ,now at idle it blows cold air when above idle warm air so believe the water pump will need replacing so good job ive nearly stopped drinking
£284.... Ouch
Im guessing you have the 2.5tdi at that price

No 2.0 but the 20 valve version , anyhow took car for a quick blow on motorway everything seems fine , the replacement parts cost over £100 now all I've to sort is the radio as piss poor reception
