    Sidelights

    Can't believe my luck with my B6 avant at the minute !
    Not long after buying the car in sept last year, a sidelight lamp went . So I took the opportunity to fit LED ones ! On Saturday a bulb out warning came on , the LED lamp had not only gone but had melted itself to the lamp holder (which I can't get out of the head light housing) and part of the LED has dropped inside the headlight housing !
    Can you buy a sidelight lamp holder separately ?
    Looks like i'll be taking the headlight out and see where I go from there !!
    Nightmare !

    Nightmare. Were they cheap bulbs?

    This is an S4 headlight but they're not that different, see if the bit you need is there and I'll try and get an Etka screen shot up in the next day or so.

    Cheers James ! I think it's item 10 . That is the lamp holder ???
    The bulbs were off the bay but not the cheapest ones about !

    Well I whipped the headlight out today ! The side light bulb holder has completely disintegrated ! Only way the broken bulb is coming out is into the headlamp enclosure !
    I've disconnected the wires and await a new lamp holder ! Going back to standard bulbs now !
    •••WATCH OUT FOR CHEAPISH LEDS OFF THE BAY••••
