Hi,

I've found an unfortunate solution to my last post about high fuel consumption....the car now uses no petrol at all, as the cambelt snapped on the motorway at 70 mph. It was booked in for a new cambelt in two weeks time :(.

Anyway, the garage hasn't looked at the car yet, so I dont know if I'll get away with new valves, or if it's going to be a new head or engine replacement. The 2.0 FSI engine seems to be quite pricey....if anyone knows of a bargain one then please let me know.

My engine code is AWA, from Jan 2004. Does anyone know whether a BWA would fit (from a 2006 A3 2.0 FSI), or at least whether the head would be the same and could be swapped over?

Thanks

Baynsey on here recently had the same issue and sorted it out him self with his Dads help.
Might be worth a message.
